The lid is 6 inches and everything goes in through it

• The opening: a 6 inch lid is the only access this sheet publishes. Every delivery, every sample and every rinse goes through it, so the fill line ends at a fixed coupling rather than a hose in somebody's hand, and the vent path through the lid stays clear whenever a pump draws. A blocked vent and a running pump will pull a polyethylene wall inwards, cross-linked or not.
• What it is not: an opening to clean through with an arm and a brush. Build the wash-out routine around a 6 inch port before the first chemical goes in.
• The draw-off: no outlet size and no inlet size are published on this sheet, so this page prints neither. Name the chemical and the flow when you order and we confirm the fitting, the gasket and the valve against Snyder's drawing for this part number before anything ships.
• Valve and supports: the valve rides on its own bracket off the floor or the wall, the first joint is a flexible connector, and a union or flange downstream takes any future valve change away from the tank fitting. Nothing rigid is clamped between the vessel and a pipe run.
• Pump and protection: short, falling suction run, first bend clear of the fitting, a strainer that can be cleaned without breaking the line, and a low level cut-out that stops the pump with liquid still over the draw-off.

Put the level on a gauge and the identity on the tank, in that order, on the day it is commissioned. Neither is expensive, and both are cheaper than the incident that happens when a station is unlabelled and its level is a guess.

A feed station for a plant that has its own frame

A tank-only part number is what gets specified where the plant has already solved the mounting: a skid built by the process contractor, a plinth poured with the building, a mezzanine deck, an existing bund the vessel drops into, or a frame carried over from the station this one replaces. The duties are the ordinary chemical ones at 60 gallons: hypochlorite, caustic, acid or polymer feed at a small water or wastewater works, a sanitiser day tank on a food or dairy line, cooling tower treatment, detergent or acid at a wash, a dosing point in a finishing shop.
