Low and wide: what you get and what you give

At 122 inches tall the manway is reached from a short platform, the tank clears most building roofs with room for the vent and the fill line, and the wide base gives it the lowest center of gravity of the tanks near this volume, so it needs the least tie down, though every polyethylene tank is strapped before the first fill. What you give is floor: a 142 inch circle carrying up to 95,702 lb when the tank is full at the rating. The slab is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, level, and in full contact with the whole tank floor; a wide tank bridging a high spot carries its load on a ring instead of a disc. Black keeps light off the contents, so stored water stays clear and light sensitive liquids keep their strength; it runs warmer than white in the sun, so shade a heat sensitive liquid, and it hides the level, so a sender at the pad is the gauge.

What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and no hotter than 120 F. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base. With 122 inches of liquid above it the outlet gives a flooded suction nearly to the floor. Flexible connector before hard pipe, valve supported off the pad. Tell us the liquid so we confirm the fitting suits it.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway, 122 inches up. Fill through a dip tube and size the vent to the delivery pump.

The tank ships from Snyder's plant in Lincoln, Nebraska, as one piece 142 by 142 by 122 inches at 1,400 lb, freight class 400. At 142 inches across it is wider than a standard trailer deck, so the truck is usually arranged by phone; if the estimator asks you to call, that is why. Plan a large forklift or a crane and a crew for the unload.
