The N30 is the sulfuric acid grade, the N42 is cross-linked polyethylene for hypochlorite and the other oxidizers, and the N48 is another linear grade, the last two 10 pounds lighter. The 1000112N30 is the 35 gallon double wall, 5 inches shorter on a base 4 inches narrower, and the 5991002N48 is the 80 gallon step up, 2 inches taller on a base 2 inches narrower.

Manway, outlet, alarms, interstice

• Access: 14 inch threaded, vented lid on the primary; filled by hose or funnel from a carboy or a tote pump, vented outside on anything that fumes.
• Outlet: through both walls together; specify the bulkhead fitting for the chemical when ordering, and a flexible line to the pump suction.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

Two levels to watch: the primary, with a sender chosen for the chemical per the level gauge selection guide, and the interstitial space, which is the leak alarm and gets a float switch or a look each shift. Bracket the tank so a snagged hose cannot drag it, mount the dosing pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, and keep the lid closed against vapor loss.

Day-to-day duty

Coagulant, caustic and inhibitor day tanks at small water systems and cooling towers, acid and caustic make-up on a lab or pilot skid, chemical feed carts, and any 60 gallon vessel of regulated chemical inside an occupied building.
