1100 Gallon Vertical Liquid Storage Tank

Where a wide, low 1100 fits

Buy this shape when height is the limit and floor is not: under a deck or a low shed roof, beside a single storey house where a tall tank would stand above the eave, inside a barn bay with a low door, or anywhere you want to fill, inspect and clean from the ground. A wide, low tank is also the steadiest choice on a windy site. The trade is the pad. The 87 inch base needs a flat, level, continuous surface a little more than seven feet across; because it carries 13761 lb at full rating, a concrete pad or well compacted gravel is the right foundation, not blocks or pallets, and the pad must be flat across its whole width or the shell will sit on a ridge. What goes in it

Water, rainwater, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Keep the contents below 120 F and below 1.5 times the weight of water. Heavier liquids, which include some concentrated fertilizers and acids, belong in the heavy duty version of this same shell, which Norwesco makes in blue and in black; the options above the price list them. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Turn the tank so the outlet faces the pipe run before the first fill, because a full tank does not turn, and support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. On a 53 inch tank it is at chest height, so filling from a hose, dropping a float in and getting a brush inside need no ladder. The vent lets air out as you fill and in as you draw down; never plug it.

The same shell in other versions

Norwesco makes this 87 by 53 inch shell four ways. This white standard tank is the lightest. The 1100 gallon black vertical tank, N-40339 is the same tank in black, for water that will stand a long time. The 1100 gallon blue heavy duty tank, N-40081 and the 1100 gallon black heavy duty tank, 42330 have a heavier wall for denser liquids. Shipping and receiving

The tank ships by LTL freight, 87 by 87 by 53 inches with a ship weight of 185 lb, from the nearest of Norwesco's plants; this tank is built at eleven of them across the country, so the lane is usually short. At seven feet across it takes the full width of the trailer and a wide spot at your gate, so tell us if the delivery truck has a tight approach.
