What goes in it
Water. This is a water tank, and the black colour and FDA compliant resin are chosen for it. Plan on the 1.1 specific gravity rating, which covers water and light liquids only; if you want to store liquid fertilizer or anything denser, buy the heavy duty version of this tank linked below. Keep the contents under 120 F.
Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall. A 2 inch ball valve or a camlock threads straight in; a garden hose adapter reduces from there. Support the valve and the first length of hose on their own so the wall carries water, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: the fill point from a downspout or a hose, the vent, and the opening for a float valve or a brush.
