Where it works

A 1,300 gallon vertical on a 60 inch circle is a compact bulk tank: big enough to take a tanker drop of a treatment chemical, small enough to fit in a chemical room or a containment bay. The 1.9 rating is the point of it, because sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, sulfuric acid and many other treatment and process chemicals are heavier than water, some nearly twice as heavy. Water plants, pools and aquatic centers, food plants and farms are the usual homes. The flat bottom needs a level, smooth base under its whole footprint, and the 114 inch height plus the manway leaves room under most ceilings. What to check before you buy

1. The outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Thread your valve straight in and support the valve and pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. The manway. 20 inch, threaded and vented. Room to fill from a hose, drop in a level probe and reach inside for inspection.
3. The chemical and the gasket. Check your liquid and its strength in the chemical compatibility guide before ordering; the fitting and gasket materials are chosen from the chemistry. Buyers of this tank most often ask about sodium hypochlorite, sulfuric acid, ferric chloride, hydrochloric acid and potassium hydroxide.
