A 1010 gallon white leg tank with a sump bottom that drains it dry
The Norwesco 1010 gallon horizontal leg tank with sump bottom, part number 40393, is a white polyethylene transport and storage tank 140 inches long, 47 inches wide and 58 inches tall, weighing 319 lb empty. The sump is a moulded low point in the floor that collects the last of the liquid at the outlet, so the tank empties cleaner than a flat bottomed leg tank and rinses out faster between products. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, which Norwesco states as 12.52 lb per gallon; 1010 gallons of water weighs 8423 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco and the service limit is 120 F. White lets you read the level through the wall.

Why a sump bottom
A flat bottomed leg tank always leaves a puddle below the outlet. When the load is water that is a nuisance; when it is fertilizer or a chemical that changes with the season, the puddle is contamination of the next load and a disposal problem. The sump puts the outlet at the lowest point so a pump or gravity drain takes nearly everything, and a rinse goes out the same way. That is why sump bottom tanks are the choice for custom applicators and anyone who switches products. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water belong in the heavy duty version of this tank, not this one. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the sump. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Because the sump sits low, check the clearance under the deck for the valve before you mount the tank.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a float and cleaning. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes while a pump draws from it.

On a vehicle, strap through the leg recesses and use the support bands Norwesco makes for this tank; put them on the same order.
