Where a 12000 gallon heavy duty tank fits

The heavy duty tank is for liquids well above the weight of water: concentrated fertilizers, brines, treatment chemicals and process liquids between 1.5 and 1.9 specific gravity. For water, rainwater or fire reserve the standard 1.5 tank in the same shell does the job for less and is linked below. At 141 inches across and 193 inches tall the tank needs a 141 inch circle of level, continuous concrete and clear height above 193 inches to stand it up. What goes in it

Polyethylene handles water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating takes weight off the list of worries. Temperature stays on it: the tank is rated to 120 F, so a warm process stream or a liquid that heats in the sun needs a check against that number. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. Your valve threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, large enough for a fill line, a level sensor and inspection together. It is the vent, so never plug it or pipe a fill line into it without a separate vent.
3. Extra fittings. Nothing else is installed. A second outlet, a fill connection or a sight gauge is quoted with the tank if you tell us where it goes.
