1500 Gallon Blue Heavy Duty Vertical Liquid Storage Tank

Where it goes

A tall, narrow vertical tank for a site where floor space is tight and overhead is not: 64 inches across takes a small corner of a chemical room, a fertilizer plant or a treatment building, and the 116 inch height puts the manway above head height, so plan on a ladder or a platform for filling and inspection. It needs a flat, level, continuous pad under the whole bottom; a tank bottom that bridges a gap or sits on a crown is the usual cause of a failure at the base. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. Your valve threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware, and leave a flexible connector between tank and pipe: a full tank settles and grows a little, and rigid pipe fights it.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose, drop a float or level sensor in, and get a hand and a brush inside.

At the tailgate, check the part number against 40146 on the bill of lading, roll the tank slowly and look at the whole wall and the outlet fitting for transit damage, stand it on its pad the same day, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything heavier.
