The Norwesco 525 gallon horizontal leg tank in white, part number 40181, is a polyethylene transport and storage tank 71 inches long, 49 inches wide and 54 inches tall on its moulded legs, weighing 139 lb empty. The legs let it sit flat on a truck bed, a trailer deck or a skid without a cradle. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The tank is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, a maximum of 12.52 lb per gallon, which covers water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals; 525 gallons of water weighs about 4380 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, the service limit is 120 F (48 C), and Norwesco backs it with a 3 year warranty. White shows the level through the wall in daylight.

On a truck, a trailer or the ground
At 71 by 49 inches the tank fits along a flatbed or a utility trailer, and at 54 inches tall it needs an open deck, so measure the deck and the route before you order. Full of water it carries about 4380 lb of liquid on top of the 139 lb tank, and more with fertilizer, so the vehicle's payload rating, not the tank, is usually the limit. Two bands are optional for this tank, band part N-60057; where the tank rides on a vehicle, band it and strap through the leg recesses, never over the manway. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in, and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean.
