The Snyder Industries 1025 Gallon Plastic Horizontal Leg Tank (SII-32042) is a white, high-density linear polyethylene horizontal leg tank built for hauling and applicator work where a wide, low-slung tank rides a trailer or skid through the field. It measures 139 inches long by 48 inches wide by 55 inches tall, and the molded legs give it the flat footprint that keeps a full horizontal tank stable in transit. The 1.5 specific gravity rating means it is built to carry heavier-than-water liquids, not just fresh water - which is what makes it a workhorse for fertilizer blends, ag chemicals, and DEF.

Will it work for your liquid?

Capacity is 1025 gallons. Full of water that is roughly 8,548 pounds; at the full 1.5 specific gravity rating the tank holds up to 12,823 pounds of contents - a 4,275-pound swing between a water load and a heavy fertilizer or brine load. Treat that 12,823-pound number as your go/no-go check: size the trailer cross-members, skid, or pad for the rated weight, not the water weight, because that delta is exactly what cracks an under-built support structure on a 139-inch horizontal leg tank. Chemical compatibility

This is an HDLPE tank with a 1.5 specific gravity rating. Compatibility is concentration-, fitting-, and gasket-specific, so match every component to your actual service - and remember the gasket is the weak link: the right tank with the wrong gasket is still a compatibility failure. Within the 1.5 SG rating, this tank is suitable for the following at the noted concentrations: Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC, EPDM), Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC, EPDM), DEF (32.5%, 316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets), Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC, EPDM), Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC, EPDM), Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC, EPDM), Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM), and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM, PVC, EPDM). Note that DEF calls for 316SS fittings, and Ozonated Water is the one compatible chemical here without its own dedicated reference page yet - verify it directly against the OEM chemical-resistance chart. The mistake to avoid: matching the SG and the gasket

A 1.5 SG tank does not cover everything. A long list of common ag and water-treatment chemicals need a higher 1.9 specific gravity tank and must NOT be run in this one - if your liquid is on this list, step up to a 1.9-SG-rated tank rather than forcing it into this one: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, and Zinc Orthophosphate. The second trap is the gasket: several of these require Viton (Sulfuric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sodium Hypochlorite, Phosphoric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid) or Aflas (Peracetic Acid) rather than EPDM. Match the fitting material - PP, PVC, CPVC, or 316SS - AND the gasket to the specific chemical; reusing an EPDM kit on a Viton-required service fails even with the correct tank.
