Two tankers of oxidizer, in the wall built for it
Cross-linked polyethylene is a different molecule from the linear grade: the chains are bonded to each other during molding, so an oxidizer that slowly cracks a linear wall has nothing to work on, and the same bonding holds the wall's shape twenty degrees hotter than a linear tank, which matters for hypochlorite that arrives warm off a truck in August. A 1.9 wall on top of that resin is sized for a liquid nearly twice as dense as water, and 3,100 pounds of resin is what that takes at this size, the heaviest of the walls in this shell. The N29 is the next wall down in this shell for dense liquids that do not oxidize; the C34 and the C37-BLACK are the general grades, white and black, for water and liquids that do not attack a linear wall. Openings on a fourteen foot tank
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 169 inches up; a platform with a rail, not a ladder, for anyone who opens it. Vent outside on hypochlorite and peroxide, fill through a dip tube, and size the vent for the delivery pump, because a tanker's pump moves air faster than a stock vent passes it.
- Outlet: tell us the liquid when ordering and the bulkhead fitting is matched to it; a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad in the material the chemical calls for.
- Service limit: 140 F / 60 C.
Hypochlorite off-gasses as it decays, so the vent line on this tank is sized and routed as carefully as the fill, and the headspace above the liquid is where the wall sees the most chemistry; inspect from the manway with a light, looking at the wall above the level line. A sender read at ground level and a low-level float for the pump are standard at this size. Mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and label one liquid per tank. Where it freezes, insulate or trace the outlet valve and the first pipe run; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
