The Snyder Industries 200 Gallon XLPE Chemical Feed Station Tank is built for bulk chemical storage and metering, molded in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and rated to a 1.9 specific gravity. That high SG rating is the headline number: this tank holds dense chemistries that would overstress a standard 1.5-rated water tank. At 200 gallons it stands 74" tall on a 62" x 76" footprint and holds roughly 1,668 lb when full of water. At its 1.9 SG limit it carries up to 3,169 lb of contents, so size the pad and any containment to that 3,169 lb figure, not the lighter water weight.

Will it work for your application

This is a chemical-feed-station tank, not a potable water vessel, so spec it around the chemistry you are storing. The 200-gallon working volume suits day tanks, polymer and coagulant feed, and metering-pump supply where you want a compact 62" x 76" footprint. Confirm your pump skid and mixer mounting against the actual tank dimensions before you finalize the layout. If you are unsure whether 200 gallons matches your feed rate and refill cadence, run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator or read the Tank Sizing Guide.

Chemical compatibility

The tank wall is cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) rated to 1.9 specific gravity, which is why it carries chemistries heavier than water. Compatibility always depends on chemical, concentration, and temperature, so verify your exact service against the OEM chemical-resistance chart, concentration- and temperature-specific, before ordering. Based on that chart, this tank handles the following at the noted concentrations, with the matching fitting and gasket materials:

Most of these chemistries run on PVC fittings and EPDM gaskets, but a few break that pattern - match the wetted hardware to your service:

  • Hydrofluosilicic Acid needs Viton gaskets, not EPDM.
  • DEF calls for 316SS fittings.
  • Propylene Glycol pairs with PP or 316SS fittings.

Cross-reference everything in our Chemical Compatibility Database against the OEM chart for your specific concentration and temperature.

The mistake to avoid

The costliest error on a chemical feed tank is mismatching the wetted hardware to the chemistry. The XLPE wall handles the chemicals above, but the fittings and gaskets are a separate decision - using EPDM where Viton is required (as with hydrofluosilicic acid), or PVC where 316SS is specified (DEF, propylene glycol), is how feed stations fail at the bulkhead. Confirm the fitting and gasket materials for your exact chemical and concentration. For instrumentation, our guide on tank level gauge selection for chemical service covers radar vs. ultrasonic vs. hydrostatic measurement, and the guide on tank label and signage compliance walks through NFPA 704 and GHS placarding for bulk storage.
