2,000 gallons at 1.5 specific gravity on a 96 inch base, ASTM certified
The Snyder 5050300N43 is a white polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 96 inches across and 84 inches tall, holding 2,000 gallons at 420 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 25,020 pounds of contents against 16,680 for water, so it holds brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered as well as water, it is sold with ASTM certification for jobs that need the paper, and the eight foot base puts 2,000 certified gallons under a seven foot ceiling. It carries an 18 inch threaded, vented manway and a 3 year warranty, and it travels as ordinary LTL freight.

The middle wall, certified, on the low base
A water-rated wall is for water and nothing heavier; the full-density wall is for concentrated acid; a 1.5 wall is the middle, sized for brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered and every water application, with margin, and 420 pounds of resin is what it takes on this wide, low shell. The certification is against ASTM D1998, and the way a tank meets it is in the wall; the HDPE tank wall thickness guide explains the sizing logic and why the headspace is where a wall ages, and the freeboard sizing guide works out the usable volume once thermal expansion is accounted for. Two thousand gallons of fill or pump-out moves a lot of air, so the vent is sized for those rates; the atmospheric vent capacity guide does the API 2000 sizing math. Full, it puts 25,020 pounds on a 96 inch circle at the rating, which a compacted gravel pad or a slab in full contact carries, and the wide base sits low enough that no strap is needed. The tank sizing calculator tells you whether 2,000 gallons covers the draw, and the tank sizing guide covers days of supply.
Grades on the 96 x 84 inch tank, and the sizes beside it
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5050300N43 (this tank, 1.5 SG, ASTM certified) | 2,000 | 96 x 84 in | 420 lb |
| 5050300N45 (1.9 SG, ASTM certified) | 2,000 | 96 x 84 in | 500 lb |
| 5050300N39 (1.35 SG, ASTM certified) | 2,000 | 96 x 84 in | 380 lb |
| 5050300N42 (XLPE, 1.9 SG) | 2,000 | 96 x 84 in | 420 lb |
| 5050000N43 (1.5 SG, ASTM certified) | 2,000 | 90 x 88 in | 340 lb |
| 1780200N40 (tall, XLPE) | 1,900 | 72 x 119 in | 445 lb |
| 5090000C26 | 2,500 | 90 x 107 in | 450 lb |
The N45 is the certified 1.9 wall, 80 pounds heavier, for ferric at strength and the heavy brines; the N39 is the certified 1.35 wall, 40 pounds lighter, for water and hypochlorite; and the N42 is cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers at this tank's weight. The 5050000N43 is this same certified 1.5 wall on a 90 inch base 4 inches taller and 80 pounds lighter. The 1780200N40 stands 1,900 gallons on a 72 inch base for a narrow corner, and the 5090000C26 is the 2,500 gallon tank on a 90 inch base at 107 inches.

Ports and access
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway; filled by hose or truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes.
- Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the liquid when ordering; a short flexible section after the bulkhead, and the valve supported from the pad rather than the tank.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
- Listing: ASTM certification.
The white wall shows the level in daylight; a float switch for low level protects a pump, and the low shape keeps the suction flooded to the last few inches. Set the pump lower than the outlet so gravity primes it, keep the manway shut against vapor loss, and shade the tank if the liquid is light-sensitive. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run.
Receiving a delivery
A delivery pump pushes air out faster than a manway vent passes it, so the vent is sized for that rate or the fill takes its own top bulkhead and vent. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the liquid does not free-fall and foam. Watch the first delivery from the first gallon to the last, with eyes on the outlet fitting as the tank fills, and each delivery after it is logged with its date and strength.
Typical duty
Brine for a softener bank, fertilizer solution on a farm, coagulant as delivered at a small plant that needs the certification on file and has a low roof, well storage, and one cell of a small fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes. One liquid per tank, labeled.
Freight to your ZIP
The 5050300N43 ships palletized as LTL freight (NMFC 156600-01) at a class rate; the freight cost estimator gives the number for your ZIP; the price shown here is before freight. A forklift with long forks sets 420 pounds on the pad, and at 96 inches across it needs a gate, not a door. Water to the manway once, a hold, the outlet fitting checked, and the certification paperwork filed with the job. A photo of the tank on its pad, full, on day one is worth keeping; it is the baseline every later inspection is compared against.
