Four black 3,000s, and why this is the low one
Snyder molds a black 3,000 in three shells, and the roof picks: this one under eight feet on the widest base, the 96 inch tank at nine feet, and the 90 inch tanks at ten and a half. A low wide tank has the lowest center of gravity in its class and needs the least strapping. Full at the rating it puts 47,538 pounds on a 102 inch circle, and a rotationally molded floor bears on all of it: a slab in full contact per the concrete pad sizing guide, inside a berm sized to the tank when the liquid is regulated. A 3 inch outlet reached from the ground
- Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; tell us the liquid when ordering and the fitting is matched to it, with a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad in the material the chemical calls for.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 96 inches up, reached from a step; fill through a dip tube to the floor, vent outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for the delivery pump.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Eight feet of liquid above a 3 inch outlet is a flooded suction to the last few inches, and the outlet drains a full tank in a working shift; mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, and a low-level float shuts it off before it runs dry. Close the manway to hold vapor, mark the tank with the chemical it stores, and make the headspace wall the thing you look at with a light whenever the lid is off. Frost is a pipe problem, not a tank problem: trace or wrap the outlet valve and the first length of pipe, and let the body take ice from the top down.
Low rooms and open pads
