The Snyder Industries 3000 Gallon ASTM XLPE Black Vertical Storage Tank is a crosslinked polyethylene vertical storage tank built for demanding bulk water and heavier-than-water storage. It stands 127 inches tall on a 90-inch diameter, fitting within a 90 x 90 inch pad. The crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) wall carries a 1.5 specific gravity rating, so the resin is engineered to hold contents up to 50 percent denser than water without derating the shell.

Will it work for your site

At full capacity this Snyder vertical tank holds 3,000 gallons. Filled with water it carries roughly 25,020 pounds of contents, and at its maximum rated 1.5 specific gravity it is designed to support up to 37,530 pounds. Because it is a round tank, plan the foundation around the 90-inch circular footprint, not a full square: pour a level, engineered pad rated for the loaded weight. Our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you confirm capacity and freeboard, and the concrete pad sizing guide walks through the ACI 360R-10 framework for above-ground polyethylene tanks.

Fittings and access

Per the technical drawing on this page, this tank is configured with a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded and vented port, and a manway with 15-inch access for interior entry and maintenance. Because 18 inches is unusually large for a plumbing port, confirm against the drawing whether that PE threaded/vented opening is a vent-capable lid throat or a process connection before you spec plumbing. Field connections at the flange and manway need compatible gaskets and bolt kits sized to those ports, so confirm gasket material against your stored fluid. Note that some gallonage marks may be removed for fitting placement — verify port locations and elevations against the drawing rather than nominal positions.

The XLPE decision — get this right

This is a crosslinked (XLPE) tank, not standard HDPE. Crosslinked polyethylene resists environmental stress cracking and handles higher specific-gravity contents, which is why it carries the 1.5 SG rating. The common mistake is down-swapping to a lighter, non-crosslinked linear tank to save money when the contents run heavier than water — that undersizes the shell for the load. If your stored fluid is denser than water, match it to the 1.5 SG rating here and check the loaded weight against your pad design. For fire-water and reserve storage, the rural fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing discipline and cold-climate freeze protection.

This Snyder XLPE vertical storage tank ships by LTL freight from a single manufacturing plant in Marked Tree, Arkansas, quoted live to your ZIP code — buyers in the West should expect longer transit from that one origin.
