Snyder Industries 3000 Gallon Black Vertical Storage Tank

Where it goes

This is the 3,000 gallon tank for the site that has neither a very low roof nor a very tight footprint: a nine foot shell on an eight foot circle, which stands in a standard steel building, under a packing shed eave or on an open pad, and ships out of the Central Valley to the West. The buyers are vineyards and orchards with frost and irrigation water, dairies and food plants with wash water, growers with liquid fertilizer, and small utilities with a treatment chemical. The pad carries the load: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the 96 inch circle takes all 25,020 lb of water and more at the rating. Engineer the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, with containment where the liquid is regulated, and anchor the tank before the first fill; in seismic country that is a code matter, not a preference. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or pipe adapter threads straight in. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and carry the first valve on a support off the pad, so the wall carries liquid and not hardware.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from a step at nine feet. Wide enough for a fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order. Where a second wall is required, the double wall freeboard guide works out the usable volume.
