Snyder Industries 3000 Gallon Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

A chemical room's worth of dense liquid under a standard roof

A well site or a small water plant that has outgrown tote-fed day tanks buys this: enough to take a partial tanker or a pallet of totes at once, in a wall rated for the densest coagulants, and still under a standard roof. So does a plating shop with sulfuric and a food plant with a small brine line. Snyder also makes 3,000 gallon tanks on a narrower, taller base; this one trades half a foot of width for a lower top, so the manway is reached from a step rather than a platform. Full of water it weighs 3,000 x 8.34 = 25,020 lb plus the tank, and a liquid at the 1.9 rating almost twice that, on a 96 inch circle. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. That is a generous outlet on a 3,000 gallon tank, there so a plant can pull a day tank's worth in minutes and so a dosing pump never sees a restriction on its suction. Set the pump at pad level below the outlet with a calibration column and a strainer, because ferric drops scale as it cools; keep the suction line short and rising to the pump; add a low level float. Support the valve and the first pipe run off the pad and trace or insulate them where winters freeze.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 111 inches up, reached from a step. Fill through a dip tube or a screened manway, pipe the vent outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for the delivery pump.

The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. A forklift with long forks sets 600 lb on the pad with straps under the body, never through the manway. Check the part number 5130300C26 against the bill of lading, look over the floor edge and the outlet fitting, fill it with water the first time and hold it a day, then drain and dry it before the chemical arrives.
