Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 37,530 pounds of contents against 25,020 for water, so it holds brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered as well as water, on a low, wide shape that cannot tip, and the 2 inch outlet carries an internal siphon tube so the tank drains from the floor without a fitting at the very bottom. The middle wall on a low tank
A 1.0 wall is for water and nothing heavier; a 1.9 wall is for concentrated acid; a 1.5 wall is the middle, sized for brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered and every water application, with margin, and 750 pounds of resin is what that takes at 3,000 gallons on this shape. The eight and a half foot base at 97 inches keeps the manway within reach of a short step and puts the load on the pad without the lever arm a tall tank has in wind. A siphon tube outlet draws from the floor through a fitting set higher on the wall, which keeps the bulkhead out of the sediment; prime it once and it stays primed. Fittings and access
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with an internal siphon tube; a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad.
- Access: 20 inch threaded, vented manway.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
A siphon outlet needs the pump or the gravity line below the tank floor to stay primed, and a foot of drop is enough; if the line ever runs dry, refill the tank above the fitting and open the valve to re-prime. The white wall shows the level in daylight; tee a sight tube off the outlet for a number from the ground. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
