Dosing acid where the pump must never pull a lift

A diaphragm metering pump on acid feed runs every hour of every day, and a lost prime at a water plant is a compliance event, not an inconvenience. Standing the tank on its stand puts the liquid column above the pump, so the suction is flooded rather than lifted, the last of a delivery still leaves under gravity, a drain reaches a drum without a transfer pump, and there is space under the tank to see a wet spot before somebody finds it with a boot. That is the whole argument, and it costs two things: 318 lb instead of the floor-standing build's weight, and 86 inches of height to get through a door, under a beam and into an aisle. Measure both before ordering. The floor carries 2752 lb of water and far more with acid through the stand's bearing points rather than spread across the tank's own base, so it has to be flat, level and continuous under the whole 76 by 62 inch plan, and the stand should be anchored before the first fill. What goes in it

Start with the sulfuric acid entry in our chemical compatibility guide; the other liquids an acid room feeds are hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and sodium hypochlorite. Keep the liquid at or below 120 F and under 1.9 specific gravity. 1. Lid. 18 inches on top, at the 86 inch mark on the stand. Plan a platform or a fill line.
2. Outlet. Not listed for this part number. Give us the pump suction size and we confirm before it ships.
3. Basin and stand. Both part of the build. Snyder publishes no separate basin volume or stand height here; the assembly is 86 inches and 318 lb. Ask us if your permit needs the basin figure.
