The basin is the reason it exists

A drum of chemical in a plant room sits on a pallet inside a bund somebody built, or it sits on the concrete and an inspector writes it up. This tank arrives with its own containment basin, so the vessel and the secondary containment land together on one 47 by 36 inch rectangle of floor. That is a small rectangle: it fits in a chemical room aisle, the corner of a pump house, beside a filter skid, on a mezzanine landing. It does not need a kerb poured around it. What the floor does have to be is flat, level and continuous under the entire base, because a polyethylene base bears on the surface it touches and nothing else, and a basin resting on two high spots carries its load in two places. Sweep the area first; grit under a polyethylene base is the most common installation fault we see and the cheapest to fix. At 36 inches the lid is at waist height, so you can see into it, reach into it and rinse it without a step. Above the base sits 292 lb of water at full, so a mezzanine or raised platform needs somebody to check the deck before the tank arrives. What goes in it

Cross-linked polyethylene is the harder wall, for chemicals that argue for it. Check yours in the chemical compatibility guide; buyers of this station look up ferric chloride, potassium hydroxide, hydrofluosilicic acid and sodium carbonate. Keep the liquid at or below 120 F and under 1.9 specific gravity. 2. Outlet. Not listed for this part number. Give us the pump suction size and we confirm before it ships.
3. Basin. Comes with the tank. Snyder does not publish a separate basin volume here; ask us if your permit needs the figure.
