The Snyder 32505 holds 400 gallons in a black polyethylene tank 40 inches across and 80 inches tall, 69 pounds empty. Forty inches is narrow enough for most doorways and utility rooms, and 69 pounds is light enough for one person to carry it there. A 20 inch threaded vented manway on top, a 1-1/2 inch polypropylene inlet and a 2 inch polypropylene outlet. Rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, water and lighter liquids only.

Where a 40 by 80 inch tank goes
Inside: a basement or garage well reserve, a pressure system buffer, a pump house. Outside: a rain store beside a downspout, wash water at a shop, a small stock tank. Full, it weighs 3,336 pounds on a 40 inch circle, which is nothing on a slab and a point load on a wood floor; put it over a joist or on a small pad. Standing 80 inches, it wants a foot of clearance above the manway to open it, and it rides upright in a covered trailer or lying down in a pickup bed. Three 400 gallon parts share this mold in different colors. The 500 gallon 32511 is 8 inches wider and 4 inches shorter for 100 more gallons and 11 more pounds; the 330 gallon WG24R is the crawlspace shape at 50 inches tall. Pick by the opening the tank has to pass and the ceiling it has to clear. The green 32507 is this exact tank for drinking water; the 32615 is a third color of the same mold.

Plumbing it
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting on top, for a fill line or a float valve.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base; valve, union, pump.
- Access: 20 inch threaded, vented manway. Indoors the vent still breathes; do not seal it.
- Service limit 120 F / 48 C.
Put the outlet valve where a hand reaches it without kneeling, and give the pump a union so it comes off without draining 400 gallons. On a pressure system the tank sits between the well pump and the pressure tank as a buffer, and the float valve on the inlet is what stops the well from running dry.
