A low, steady tank for water

The 120 by 116 inch body is the shape to choose when height is limited or the site is exposed. It stands under a pole barn roof or a canopy, it looks modest beside a house or a shop, and its low centre of gravity makes it steady in wind once filled. It works as a well water buffer, a rainwater cistern above ground, an irrigation or livestock reserve, or a supply for a wash bay. The manway is a short step up, so checking the level, cleaning and changing a float are easy jobs. The trade-off is a large footprint: the slab under a 120 inch circle has to be level and in full contact with the base, and our concrete pad sizing guide shows how. What to check before you buy

1. The weight of the liquid. 1.5 specific gravity is the limit. A dense brine or concentrate belongs in the 1.9 rated heavy duty version of this shell, which we also list.
2. The outlet. No bottom fitting is listed for this tank. Tell us the pipe size and what the tank feeds and we will confirm the fitting before you order.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented on top, wide enough for a hose, a float switch and a brush.

It is wider than a standard trailer and moves as an oversize load, so check the gate and the path to the pad before the truck is booked.
