Ten feet of floor for a tank you can work from a short ladder

At 116 inches the lid is a little over nine and a half feet off the pad, so a short fixed ladder and a small platform do the whole job and the fill and vent lines clear the top inside most buildings. Four walls come out of this mould, and for water, fertilizer and everyday chemicals this is the one to buy: a rating you never load is wall you paid for and freight you paid to move; take the heavy duty version only when the liquid is genuinely dense. The cost of the shape is floor. A 120 inch circle is ten feet of slab, and a rotationally moulded floor bears on all of it, so the pad is level, cured and in full contact while it carries 38,364 lb of water. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common treatment chemicals that crosslinked polyethylene handles at 1.5 specific gravity. Openings and fittings

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top: room for a permanent fill connection, a float or sender, and a hand and brush inside to clean. Run a dip tube to the floor so the fill stream does not foam the headspace.
2. Outlet. Tell us the liquid, the flow and the pump at order and we confirm the outlet this tank is supplied with before anything is drilled. With under ten feet of liquid above the floor there is little suction head, so mount the pump below the outlet, fit a low level float, and carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to the shell.
3. Vent. Sized to the delivery pump, not the nearest port.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant in Chowchilla, CA, 120 x 120 x 116 inches and 1,450 lb on the truck. A ten foot shipment is outside the ordinary trailer profile, so plan the unloading before delivery day: a forklift with forks long enough to reach across the base, or a crane with straps under the body, and nothing rigged to the manway. Check the part number against 7000500N46 on the bill of lading. Set it on the cured pad in one move, fill it with water, hold it, and walk the base all the way round before the working liquid goes in.
