An everyday reserve tank

This is the tank for the jobs that come up every week: a well water buffer so the pump is not cycling on every tap, a livestock or irrigation reserve, rainwater off a barn roof, a wash bay supply, or liquid fertilizer at the edge of the field. The 102 by 154 inch body fits a standard pad and stands next to a building without dominating it, and the manway is a short climb for inspection. There is enough height over the base fitting that a gravity feed keeps moving through most of the draw. Set it on a level slab in full contact with the floor, built to our concrete pad sizing guide; a moulded tank bears on its whole base and dislikes a soft corner. Strap it down while empty. What to check before you buy

1. The weight of the liquid. 1.5 specific gravity is the ceiling. For brine or a dense concentrate, the 1.9 rated heavy duty version of this shell is the one to buy, and we list it.
2. The outlet. No bottom fitting is listed for this tank. Tell us the pipe size and the use and we will confirm the fitting before you order.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented on top, wide enough for a fill hose, a float and a cleaning brush.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, Arkansas, 102 by 102 by 154 inches and 1,200 lb. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Plan equipment to unload and set it, with straps round the body. At the tailgate, check 8210000N49 against the bill of lading and walk round the wall and base for damage. Fill it with water first and look at the base and the fitting after a day before it goes into service; in a freezing climate, protect the valve and the first pipe run before winter.
