5,000 gallons under an eight foot ceiling, in black
The Snyder 32392 holds 5,000 gallons of water in a black high density linear polyethylene shell 142 inches across and 93 inches tall, weighing 876 pounds. It is the low profile 5,000: the same water the tall 102 inch tanks hold at 159 inches, spread across a twelve foot floor and stopped at seven feet nine, for the pole barn, the lean-to and the equipment shed with a low header. Black keeps the water clear of algae; threaded polypropylene fittings and a 26 inch manway; a rating of 1.0 specific gravity for water and liquids no heavier.

Twelve feet of floor
Low means wide. The 32392 needs a level pad 142 inches across with the whole circle supported, and full it puts 41,700 pounds on that pad: an engineered slab, sized by the method the concrete pad sizing guide describes. In return, the tank is the easiest 5,000 gallon vessel to live with: the manway is reachable from a short step, the tank strapped down without a tall frame, and the empty shell stable in a gust. The tank sizing calculator confirms the gallons before the concrete is poured.
Snyder's 5,000 gallon shapes
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32392 (this tank, low profile) | 5,000 | 142 x 93 in | 876 lb |
| 32368 | 5,000 | 119 x 116 in | 805 lb |
| 32382, tall | 5,000 | 102 x 159 in | 876 lb |
| 32384, green, tall | 5,100 | 102 x 159 in | 876 lb |
| 32327 | 4,100 | 102 x 130 in | 714 lb |
The 32382 is the same water and the same 876 pounds stood up, 66 inches taller on a base 40 inches narrower. The 32368 splits the difference at 119 by 116 inches and 71 pounds lighter. The 32327 gives up 900 gallons for a 102 inch base at 130 inches. Read the height column against the roof and the diameter column against the floor; the volume is the same across the first three rows.

What is fitted
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base.
- Access: 26 inch threaded, vented manway, reachable from a short step.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Ninety-three inches of head is a modest gravity feed; a pump does the work on a low tank. Level through a black wall is a sight tube off the outlet or an ultrasonic sender on the manway, which has an easy job at this height. Pipe the outlet through a flexible transition; a twelve foot polyethylene floor moves with the day.
The work it does
A rural fire reserve that a fire department connection can reach from the ground, sized under NFPA 22 per the fire-water reservoir design guide; a ranch water bank under a barn roof; and the bulk stage of a commercial reuse train that pools roof water, grey water and condensate, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article. The tank sizing guide turns 5,000 gallons into days of supply. Clean it once a year through the manway with a wash-down wand, drain through the outlet, and let it dry before refilling.
Freight for a twelve foot diameter
At 142 inches across the 32392 is oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator prices it for your ZIP, and the listed price is before freight. A forklift with long forks or a crew of several set 876 pounds of wide, awkward shell on the slab. Fill in stages with the slab edge and both fittings under watch before it goes into service. A photo of the tank on its pad, full, on day one is worth keeping; it is the baseline every later inspection is compared against.
