Snyder Industries 535 Gallon Plastic Horizontal Leg Tank

On a trailer, a flatbed or the ground

At 78 by 47 inches the tank is a trailer or flatbed load, six and a half feet long and too wide for a pickup box between the wheel wells. Full of water the tank and its contents weigh over two tons, so the trailer's axle ratings and the tow vehicle set the limit, and a dense fertilizer weighs more than water. At 52 inches tall the manway is reachable from the deck. Strap through the leg recesses, never over the manway, recheck the straps after the first miles, and keep the manway closed on the road; an open 18 inch manway loses product on every bump. On the ground, every leg needs a flat, continuous surface under it. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Liquids heavier than 1.9 times water are outside the rating, and anything above 120 F is too hot for the wall. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. 2 inch, low in the end wall. Your valve, camlock or pump suction connects there. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. 18 inches, on top. Fill from a bulk hose, fit a float or a vent, drop in an agitator, or get inside to clean.

Snyder makes this 535 in black, which keeps light out of the contents and slows algae in stored water. One step down is the 525 gallon leg tank; one step up, with its securing hoop supplied, is the 730 gallon leg tank with securing hoop.
