A narrow 3,000 gallon tank with a fast outlet

At 90 inches across and 127 inches high, this is a narrow shape for 3,000 gallons, so it fits a tighter pad, a side yard or a gap between buildings where a wider tank of the same volume would not. What to check before you buy

1. The outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Thread a 3 inch valve straight in and support the valve and pipe on their own so the fitting carries water only.
2. The manway. 18 inch, threaded and vented, wide enough to fill from a hose, fit a float or sensor and reach in to clean. Screen the vent.
3. Height. 127 inches plus the base; check eaves, wires and branches.
4. Drinking water. If people will drink it, tell us; we will go over what the resin and fittings need for that use.
5. Light. A white wall lets some light through, which can grow algae in stored water. Shade it, or look at the black tanks below.
