The N45 is the certified 1.9 wall, 350 pounds heavier, for ferric at strength and the heavy brines; the N42 is the heavy cross-linked tank at that weight, and the N40 and N46 the lighter cross-linked and linear grades at this tank's weight. The 7421100C34 lays 4,300 gallons down to 104 inches on a 120 inch base, and the 7000400N43 is this same 1.5 wall, certified, laid down to 91 inches on a 143 inch base for a low roof.

Ports

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 182 inches up; filled by truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for a tanker's unload rate.
• Outlet: the bulkhead fitting is chosen for the liquid at order time; an expansion joint and a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, with the valve carried on the slab.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

The white wall shows the level in daylight; fit a sender read at ground level so nobody climbs for a number, and a float switch for low level protects a pump. Put the pump below the outlet, where it primes itself, close the manway against vapor loss, and keep a light-sensitive liquid out of direct sun. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe.

Filling from a tanker

Unloading a tanker pushes air out faster than a stock manway vent can pass it; size the vent for that rate, or fill through a dedicated top bulkhead vented separately. The fill pipe reaches the floor, so the liquid enters below the surface instead of free-falling and foaming. The first tanker into a new tank is a supervised job, slab edge and outlet fitting checked as it fills, and from then on each load is logged by date and strength.
