A 2500 gallon heavy duty 30 degree cone bottom tank for complete drainage
The Norwesco 2500 gallon 30 degree cone bottom tank, part number 40129, is a light blue high density linear polyethylene tank 96 inches in diameter and 105 inches tall, weighing 455 lb empty. The 30 degree cone carries liquid and settled solids to one low outlet, so the tank empties completely and rinses clean between batches. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the cone outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. This is the heavy duty version, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, 15.87 lb per gallon; 2500 gallons of water weighs 20850 lb and a 1.9 liquid can take the contents to 39615 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, the service limit is 120 F, and Norwesco backs the tank with a 3 year warranty. A cone bottom tank cannot stand on its own; its stand is part number N-64076, sold separately.

Why a 30 degree cone
A 30 degree cone is the middle of Norwesco's range: it moves settled solids and viscous product toward the outlet better than a 15 degree cone while adding less height than a 45. It is the usual choice for chemical batching, fertilizer and suspension blending, water treatment make-down and any process where a complete drain and a clean rinse decide whether the next batch is right. What goes in it
Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating admits the dense ones. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; the entries cone bottom buyers ask about most are sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, phosphoric acid and aluminum sulfate. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone. Your valve threads straight into it. Fit the valve before the first fill and support the pipe run on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a mixer mount or a float, and cleaning access.
- The stand. Part number N-64076, sold separately. It cradles the cone at 30 degrees and lifts the outlet high enough for a valve and a hose. The floor under it must be flat, level and continuous, with no drain or joint under the feet.
