A 2500 gallon heavy duty 15 degree cone bottom tank that drains completely
The Norwesco 2500 gallon 15 degree cone bottom tank, part number 43067, is a light blue high density linear polyethylene tank 91 inches in diameter and 108 inches tall, weighing 451 lb empty. The cone at the bottom carries every drop to a single low point, so the tank empties without a sump of leftover product and can be rinsed clean between batches. It comes with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the cone outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. This is the heavy duty version, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, 15.87 lb per gallon; 2500 gallons of water weighs 20850 lb and a 1.9 liquid can take the contents to 39615 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, the service limit is 120 F, and Norwesco backs the tank with a 3 year warranty. Why a 15 degree cone
The shallow 15 degree cone gives you full drainage with the least added height, which matters when the tank has to fit under a roof or a mezzanine. Steeper cones move settled solids out faster; the 15 degree suits clean liquids and solutions that drain on their own. What goes in it
Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating admits the dense ones. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone. A 3 inch outlet drains 2500 gallons quickly; your valve threads straight into it. Fit the valve before the first fill and support the pipe run on its own.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a mixer or a float, and cleaning access.
- The stand. Part number N-64090, sold separately. It cradles the cone at 15 degrees and lifts the outlet high enough for a valve and a hose underneath. The floor under it must be flat, level and continuous.
