The Norwesco 300 Gallon 30 Degree Cone Bottom Tank (SKU N-62345) is sold here as the tank only, built in white polyethylene with a 1.5 specific gravity rating for chemical service. The 30-degree closed-top cone forces sediment and product toward the center outlet for near-complete drainage, which is why operators pick a cone bottom over a flat-bottom vertical for batching, mixing, and chemical feed work. It stands 49 inches tall on a 48 x 48 inch footprint and carries a nominal 300 gallon capacity. This is a supported tank: the cone shape requires a stand or frame to hold it upright, so plan your structure before the tank arrives. The listing name reads "with Fittings," but the bottom outlet is the only factory fitting and the tank ships without a stand, ladder, or top-mount accessories. Outlet and fitting sizes are not published in this listing, so call 866-418-1777 to confirm placement and outlet size before you order.

Will it work for your application?

The number that decides this is the 1.5 specific gravity rating. Filled with water (SG 1.0) the tank holds roughly 2,502 lb at full volume. Its maximum rated contents weight is about 3,753 lb, which is exactly the 300-gallon water fill scaled to 1.5 SG (2,502 lb x 1.5 = 3,753 lb). In other words, the rating is a straight density ceiling, not a safety margin: if your product is heavier than 1.5 SG, this tank is the wrong choice and you need a higher-rated vessel. Size your stand and anchors to 3,753 lb plus the empty tank, not to the empty weight alone. The 30-degree cone is the middle option in the Norwesco range; if you are weighing it against the 15-degree or 45-degree angle for your solids and drain behavior, the buyer guides below walk through the tradeoffs. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide to match capacity and loaded weight to your process.

Chemical compatibility

This is a 1.5 specific gravity polyethylene tank. The resin is listed as HDLPE but is not yet confirmed, so verify HDLPE versus XLPE with us before putting it into chemical service, because resin chemistry drives compatibility as much as the SG rating does. The chemicals below are compatible with a 1.5 SG tank at the noted concentrations; size fittings and gaskets to the chemical, not just the tank:

Watch the fitting material, not just the gasket: most of these chemicals run on PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets, but DEF (32.5%) is the exception and calls for 316 stainless fittings even though it is otherwise mild. Several chemicals are NOT safe in this 1.5 SG tank and need the 1.9 SG version of this cone bottom instead: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, and Zinc Orthophosphate. Gaskets escalate too: sodium hypochlorite and the acids on that list require Viton rather than EPDM, and peracetic acid requires Aflas gaskets with 316 stainless fittings. Always confirm against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and temperature, and check the Chemical Compatibility Database before ordering. The common mistake on a tank like this is picking by SG alone and forgetting the gasket and fitting material have to match the chemical too.

Freight and ordering

This cone bottom tank ships LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP, from the nearest Norwesco plant - Griffin, GA; Hanford, CA; Shawnee, OK; Sheldon, IA; St. Bonifacius, MN; Tooele, UT; or Washington Court House, OH - so your delivered freight depends on which plant is closest to you. Run your delivery cost through the Freight Cost Estimator, and for help matching the right cone angle and chemical setup see our Norwesco cone bottom buyer's guide and the 300 gallon 30-degree guide.
