Who buys the heavy duty 3250

Buy this tank when the liquid is heavier than water. A 1.9 rating covers liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water, which is where most dense liquid fertilizers and many treatment chemicals sit. If your liquid is water or close to it, the standard 1.5 rated versions of the same body hold the same 3250 gallons for less; the heavy duty rating is what you are paying for here, along with the longer 3 year warranty. The leg tank shape keeps the body low and stable, so it suits a fixed nurse station, a blend site or a flat trailer deck where a vertical tank would be too tall. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg, not just the ends. What goes in it

Dense liquid fertilizer is the usual load, with water and the common farm and water treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles behind it. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed, with a siphon tube so the tank draws from the low point. A 3 inch valve or camlock threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose, drop a float in, and get a brush inside. Norwesco gives the lid size as 22 inches; the drawing settles which opening is which, so check it before ordering a replacement lid.
