Norwesco 3250 Gallon HDPE Horizontal Leg Tank in Black

On a nurse trailer, a flatbed or the ground

This is a fertilizer nurse tank size with the heavy duty wall, for the dense blends and suspension products a standard tank cannot carry. At 152 inches long and 88 inches wide it fills a tandem-axle trailer deck, and at 82 inches tall it rides under the legal height on most decks. Full of water the contents alone weigh 27105 lb, and a heavy fertilizer at the 1.9 limit can reach 51500 lb, so the trailer's axles, tires, hitch and brakes decide the real limit, not the tank. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the manway, and use the hold-down bands made for this tank. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under all the legs. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizer first, and the 1.9 rating admits the dense ones. Water, brine and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are fine too. Check anything new in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries buyers of this tank ask about most are DEF, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. Anything hotter than 120 F is outside the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet with siphon tube. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting fed by a siphon tube that reaches down inside the tank. The siphon tube lets the outlet sit up on the tank where it is protected while still drawing from the bottom; it drains by suction, so it is plumbed to a pump rather than left to gravity. Support the first length of hose on its own.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling from a pump, a float, and cleaning access. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes as it is pumped down.
