Height is the figure that rules this tank in or out of a building. At 75 inches the body goes under a roll-up door, a barn header or a low shed roof that a round leg tank or a vertical of the same volume would not; measure the header, the bottom of the door track and the lowest pipe before the order rather than after, and remember the tank is taller than 75 inches while it is on the forks. Outdoors the same figure works for you: a body this low fills from a short ladder and is easy to inspect. Underneath, 192 inches of elliptical body on legs needs a flat, continuous surface along the whole length, not just at the ends, so build the pad or the gravel bed to the footprint of the tank, not the legs. This is the standard rated version, for water and liquids near the weight of water. For anything heavier than 1.5 times water, the 4035 gallon blue heavy duty leg tank is the same body with a 1.9 rating. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; urea solution, DEF, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid are the entries leg tank buyers ask about most. On a 1.5 rated tank the weight of the liquid matters as much as its chemistry. Keep the contents under 120 F. White stored water in full sun grows algae sooner than water in a black tank; for a tank that sits outdoors full of water for months, consider the black version. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall, with a 2 inch reducer so you can run a 3 inch or a 2 inch valve from day one. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a brush inside.

Have a forklift or a loader on site to unload it, and walk the route from the truck to the pad with a tape first. At the tailgate, check the part number against 41267 on the bill of lading, look along all the legs for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
