Buy this tank when the liquid is heavier than water. A 1.9 rating covers liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water, which is where most dense liquid fertilizers and many treatment chemicals sit. If your liquid is water or close to it, the standard rated 3725 gallon white leg tank holds the same volume in the same body for less; the heavy duty rating and the longer 5 year warranty are what you are paying for here. The round body on moulded legs sits on a flat pad, a skid or a trailer deck, and at 97 inches tall it still fills from a short ladder. Where the tank rides on a vehicle or a skid, strap it with the 4 bands Norwesco specifies, band part 63284, over the moulded band recesses and never over the manway; we put the bands on the same order. What goes in it

Dense liquid fertilizer is the usual load, then water and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall, with a 2 inch reducer so you can run either a 3 inch or a 2 inch valve from day one. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a brush inside.
3. Bands. 4 bands, Norwesco part 63284, when the tank is strapped to a deck or a skid. Order them with the tank.
