Four totes in a blank tank

A factory outlet is at the factory's height, on the factory's side, in polypropylene; a blank tank lets the installer put the bulkhead exactly where the pump sits, in polypropylene, PVDF or a lined fitting as the liquid demands, and add a high-level port or a second outlet, all with a hole saw and a bulkhead kit. A thousand gallons is four totes with room for expansion and freeboard, and a 60 inch base under 89 inches stands under a standard eave with the lid reached from a step. Rotationally molded polyethylene tanks are sized to ASTM D1998, and the sheet rates this wall for liquids nearly twice as dense as water, so brine and coagulant are covered as well as water. Full, it puts 15,846 pounds on a 60 inch circle at the rating, which a slab in full contact or a compacted, screeded gravel pad carries; strap it to a wall or a post where wind or carts can reach it. The 1831000C26 is the same shell with a 2 inch polypropylene fitting already in, for a buyer who wants it plumbed the day it lands. Openings and limits

• Outlet: none installed. Drill the bulkhead on a flat of the wall, low enough to drain and high enough to clear sediment, with a hole saw sized to the bulkhead kit; a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad.
• Access: 18 inch lid, 89 inches up; filled by hose, tote pump or truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

Drill with the tank empty and dry, deburr the hole, and set the bulkhead gasket on the inside of the wall, hand-tight plus a quarter turn; overtightening a bulkhead in polyethylene is the usual first leak. The white wall shows the level in daylight; a float switch at low level shuts the pump off before it runs dry. Mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, keep the lid closed against vapor loss, and keep the tank out of direct sun where the liquid is light-sensitive. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.

Lane rate, not class rate

Two people stand 200 pounds; at 60 inches across it needs a wide door or goes outside. Drill and fit the outlet, then fill it to the lid once, hold it, and check the fitting for a weep before the pump goes on.
