16,500 gallons at 1.5 specific gravity on a twelve foot base
The Snyder 5380000C37 is a high density linear polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 142 inches across and 257 inches tall, holding 16,500 gallons at 5,100 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 206,415 pounds of contents against 137,610 for water, so it holds brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered as well as water, at more than three tanker loads on a twelve foot pad. An 18 inch threaded, vented manway on top, a 3 year warranty, and it ships as oversize freight.

Sixty-nine tons of water on a twelve foot circle
Full of water, the 5380000C37 puts 137,610 pounds on a 142 inch circle, and a rotationally molded floor bears on the whole pad, so the pad is what matters: an engineered, full-contact slab under all of the floor, per the concrete pad sizing guide, screeded flat, with no pipe trench or drain crossing under it. The empty tank is strapped against wind, because 257 inches of empty polyethylene is a sail, and the straps go slack once it is full. The wall is sized under ASTM D1998; the HDPE tank wall thickness guide explains that logic and why a wall this tall is inspected from the top, in the headspace. The tank sizing calculator tells you whether 16,500 gallons covers the draw, and the tank sizing guide covers days of supply.
Grades on the 142 x 257 inch tank, and the sizes beside it
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5380000C37 (this tank, 1.5 SG) | 16,500 | 142 x 257 in | 5,100 lb |
| 5380000C34 | 16,500 | 142 x 257 in | 5,100 lb |
| 5380000N43 (1.5 SG, ASTM certified) | 16,500 | 142 x 257 in | 5,100 lb |
| 5380000C26 (1.9 SG) | 16,500 | 142 x 257 in | 5,100 lb |
| 5380000C126 (light wall) | 16,500 | 142 x 257 in | 3,000 lb |
| 3030100C26 (wide) | 15,000 | 165 x 184 in | 4,400 lb |
| 3030000N49 (wide, black) | 18,800 | 165 x 242 in | 5,500 lb |
The C34 is the general-grade tank in this shell, the N43 is this same 1.5 wall with ASTM certification for a job that needs the paper, and the C26 is the 1.9 chemical wall, all at the same weight; the C126 is the light-wall water tank at 3,000 pounds. The 3030100C26 holds 15,000 gallons on a 165 inch base 73 inches shorter, and the 3030000N49 holds 18,800 gallons on that base at 242 inches.

Where the pipe goes
- Outlet: the bulkhead fitting is chosen for the liquid at order time; an expansion joint and a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, with the valve carried on the slab. For a fire reserve a large outlet is specified at order.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 257 inches up, reached from a fixed platform with a rail.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Filling, emptying and a hot afternoon all move a lot of air through a tank this size, so the vent is sized to the pump-out and fill rates rather than left at the manway default, and screened. Read the level from the ground with a sender; nobody should climb for a number. In a freezing climate insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first run of pipe; the body itself takes days to freeze at this volume, top down.
The work it does
Community water storage, a fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes, irrigation storage on a large property, brine, fertilizer solution or coagulant as delivered at the 1.5 rating, and the storage stage of a reuse system for roof water and condensate, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article. One liquid per tank, labeled.
Freight, in plain terms
At 142 inches across and 257 inches long on the deck the 5380000C37 is oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed at a lane rate, with an escort on most routes; the freight cost estimator prices the lane to your ZIP; the figure listed here is before freight. A crane sets 5,100 pounds upright on the slab. Fill it to the manway once, hold it, check the outlet fitting, and keep a screen on the vent. Save the pallet; a tank that ever has to move again is easier to move on it.
