Buying the wall the liquid needs, certified

A tank's specific gravity rating is the density of the heaviest liquid its wall is sized to hold for its service life, and most of what a small plant stores sits well under a 1.35 wall, so this grade carries water, brine and hypochlorite as delivered with margin at 325 pounds of resin. The N43 and N45 are the certified 1.5 and 1.9 walls in this same shell, 15 and 75 pounds heavier, for coagulants and then for the dense chemicals; the C26 is the general grade. The 5050300N39 is this same 1.35 certified wall on a 96 inch base 4 inches shorter. The 1780200N40 stands 1,900 gallons on a 72 inch base in cross-linked resin, and the 5090000C26 is the 2,500 gallon step up on this base, 19 inches taller.

What is fitted

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway; fill by hose or truck down a dip tube, and vent to the outside if the liquid fumes.
• Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the liquid when ordering; hard pipe joined to the bulkhead through a flexible connector, valve on a bracket of its own.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

A 90 inch base under 88 inches sits low enough that no strap is needed, and the white wall shows the level in daylight; a low-level switch protects the pump. On hypochlorite, shade the tank and buy at short turnover. In a cold climate the outlet valve and the first run of pipe are insulated or drained; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
