Why the tall shell

At 54 inches the base valve sits higher off the floor than on Snyder's shorter 220 gallon totes, which gives you gravity head into a drum, a pail, a mix tank or a pump suction that a lower tote cannot give from the same position. On a decanting bench that is the difference between a transfer that runs on its own and one that needs a pump and a power point. What it costs is headroom and handling: 54 inches will not pass under a mezzanine, a pipe run or a rack beam that a shorter tote clears, and at 295 lb empty it is a machine at both ends of every move. Where the ceiling or the forklift is the constraint, the standard 220 gallon tote linked below is the honest answer and we would rather say so. Set it on a flat, continuous, level surface carrying the whole 46 inch square: rack beams sized for the plan, a solid deck or a slab, never two pallets and never blocks under the corners. The loaded case is what the floor or the beam has to answer to: 1,835 lb of water, 3,486 lb at the rating.

What goes in it

Water, most fertilizers and the common process chemistries polyethylene handles, up to 1.9 times the weight of water and up to 120 F. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch ball valve, factory fitted. Support the first length of hose so the valve carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Inlet. A 2 inch bung for a closed fill.
3. Lid. A 6 inch threaded vented lid: a hose fill and a hand. If somebody has to get inside to clean, ask us for the Ultratainer version with a manway instead.
