SII-6630023B97203 is the black one, 45.75 inches square and 46.25 inches tall at 188 pounds. SII-6630041B97202 is the red one, 45 inches square and 48.5 inches tall at 211 pounds. SII-6820000B97202 is the Ultratainer, 46 inches square and 54 inches tall at 295.9 pounds. This one is white, 45 inches square and 48 inches tall at 243 pounds. Start with the plan. At 45 inches square this tote and the red one share the smallest footprint in the group, three quarters of an inch tighter than the black one and a full inch tighter than the Ultratainer in both directions. On a rack bay or a bunded area laid out to a fixed plan, that is the difference between a tote that drops in with clearance on all four sides and one that has to be nudged. Then take the height. At 48 inches this one sits half an inch under the red tote and six inches under the Ultratainer, which matters under a mezzanine, a pipe run, a rack beam or a roller door that does not open all the way. What they offer is the thing steel offers and plastic does not, on a rectangular plan that is longer than it is wide and much lower than any tote here, at an empty weight well above all four plastic totes. They sit on this sheet because they land in the same volume band and solve the cases steel solves. A vented lid above, a ball valve below
- The vent comes with the lid: the sheet lists a 6 inch threaded vented lid, so the breathing path arrives as part of the top fitting instead of being specified separately. That is worth knowing, because on a tote being emptied through a valve at the base the wall feels a blocked vent within minutes. Keep it clear, keep it unpainted, do not tape over it to stop a weep, and look at it every time the lid comes off.
- What six inches will take: a hose, a wand, a dip tube and a lance. Not an arm. Decide how the tote gets washed out before you decide what goes in it, and buy the lance with the tote rather than after the first product change.
- The outlet: a 2 inch ball valve, published on the sheet. Fit a flexible connector immediately downstream so the tote never carries the weight or the movement of the line, and keep the valve handle reachable without leaning across the tote.
- The inlet: a 2 inch bung, which is a closed fill connection. Filling through the bung rather than through the lid keeps the top shut, keeps the operator off the top of the tote and keeps whatever is in the air out of the product.
- What hangs off the valve: a meter, a coupling, a filling gun or a reel all go on their own bracket off the rack or the wall. The fitting boss carries liquid, not hardware, and the cost of getting that wrong is a leak at the one point nobody can reach while the tote is full.
