The heaviest wall in Snyder's 3,000 gallon class
The WB71 is deliberately squat: 96 inches tall on a 102 inch footprint, a 3,000 gallon tank that is wider than it is high. A low center of gravity shrugs off wind while the tank stands empty, the top stays reachable without staging, and the whole vessel tucks under eaves where taller 3,000 gallon shells will not fit. The black polyethylene wall blocks light to keep stored water clean, and the 1.0 specific gravity rating states the duty honestly: water, and liquids no denser than water.

Site, pad and the 25,020 pound column
At 8.34 pounds per gallon, 3,000 gallons of water is 25,020 pounds, and the wall was molded to carry exactly that column: irrigation reserve, rainwater capture, stock water, rural fire reserve, process makeup. What it was not molded for is anything denser; a heavier liquid loads the sidewall past its design case whether the tank is full or not, so chemistry above water weight belongs in a higher-rated shell. Kept on water duty, the tank runs with margin its whole life, at service temperatures up to 120 F / 48 C. The FDA approved, NSF 61 listed resin makes it suitable for drinking water storage. Give the column a base that respects it: a level pad in continuous contact with the full 102 inch footprint, sized with the concrete pad sizing guide.
Same capacity, different walls
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| WB71 (this tank) | 3,000 | 102 x 96 in | 670 lb |
| 32781, straight wall | 3,000 | 102 x 97 in | 350 lb |
| 32567 | 3,000 | 96 x 109 in | 382 lb |
| 32569, green | 3,000 | 96 x 109 in | 427 lb |
| WG62 | 2,600 | 96 x 91 in | 427 lb |
| 32294 | 3,500 | 96 x 125 in | 535 lb |
Read down the weight column. The WB71 is the outlier at 670 pounds: nearly double its straight-wall stablemate at a near-identical height, and well above the taller 96 inch tanks. Every tank in the table holds the same water; the difference is resin in the wall, and wall is what you are actually buying when you plan to keep a tank full for years. The same 3,000 gallon capacity also ships in alternate footprints, and the buyer's guides for the 98 x 101 inch variant and the 102 x 93 inch variant walk through how those footprints differ from this one on pad size and manway reach.

Ports and the manway
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway. A fast pump-out on a 3,000 gallon shell moves a serious volume of air, and the vent path is what keeps the wall from pulling vacuum while it happens.
- 3 year warranty.
The 18 inch manway is genuine access for a light and a look at the interior, and the tie-down lugs anchor the tank through the seasons it stands empty. For a gauge that reads through a black wall, see the level gauge selection guide.
Where it earns its keep
Three thousand gallons is a common private fire reserve size; the fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and cold-climate protection for a poly tank in that role. It is also the size where a rainwater system stops being a barrel and starts being infrastructure: the first-flush diverter sizing guide and the water reuse tank topology article are the design references. Check the gallons against your draw with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
Off the truck and onto the pad
Freight class 300, LTL, 670 pounds crated at 102 by 102 by 96 inches. The freight cost estimator quotes your ZIP; the listed price is before freight. Six hundred seventy pounds is more than a crew rolls by hand, so have a forklift or a loader with straps ready at delivery. Fill it in stages the first time and watch the pad, per the hydrostatic test methodology guide.
