The 440 Gallon XLPE Chemical Feed Station Tank with Stand from Snyder Industries is a cross-linked polyethylene tank built for bulk chemical dosing and day-tank duty, shipped as a complete station on its integrated stand. It holds 440 gallons in a white XLPE shell rated to a 1.9 specific gravity, stands 88 inches tall on a 68 by 83 inch footprint, and comes fitted with a 3-inch outlet and an 18-inch lid for fill and access. Empty tank weight is 400 pounds, and the design carries Snyder specifications 2285 and 2282 with a maximum service temperature of 120 F (48 C). If you are cross-shopping, this is the Snyder 440 gallon XLPE chemical feed station tank on a stand.

Will it work for your application

Start with weight and specific gravity, because that is where feed-station tanks get mis-spec'd. Filled with water this tank carries about 3,670 pounds, and its structure is rated to hold up to 6,972 pounds of contents at the tank's 1.9 SG rating. Multiply your chemical's specific gravity by the fill volume before you commit to a level. The Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide walk that math for a partial or full fill. The 88-inch height clears most drum-fill and metering-pump layouts, and the integrated stand raises the 3-inch outlet for gravity feed into a pump suction or dosing skid.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded from cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) rated to 1.9 specific gravity, which gives it the wall strength to hold denser chemistries than a standard HDLPE water tank. Compatibility is always concentration- and temperature-specific, so confirm your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and fitting and gasket materials against the Snyder Industries OEM chemical-resistance chart before service. From that chart, this XLPE build is listed compatible with acetic acid (60%), aluminum sulfate (50%), calcium chloride (40%), DEF (32.5%), ethylene glycol (100%), ferric chloride (50%), ferric sulfate (60%), ferrous sulfate (20%), hydrofluosilicic acid (26%), magnesium chloride (30%), polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate (50%), potassium hydroxide (saturated), propylene glycol, sodium carbonate (30%), sodium thiosulfate (40%), urea solution (50%), and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM). Fitting materials on the chart run PVC, PP, or 316 stainless depending on the chemical — DEF (32.5%), for example, calls for 316 stainless steel fittings rather than PVC or PP — with EPDM gaskets on most and Viton called out for hydrofluosilicic acid. Match those exactly. See the full Chemical Compatibility Database before ordering.

The mistake to avoid

The costly error on this tank is confusing the resin's 1.9 SG rating with a blanket approval. The chart lists three SG tiers: 1.35 (DEF 32.5%, urea solution 50%), 1.5 (acetic acid, aluminum sulfate, calcium chloride, ferrous sulfate, magnesium chloride, sodium carbonate, and ozonated water), and 1.9 (ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrofluosilicic acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, and sodium thiosulfate). Because this shell carries the full 1.9 SG rating, it covers every listed chemistry with margin — but do not run it in reverse and substitute a lighter-rated shell for the 1.9-required chemicals. Equally, do not run the tank open on an aggressive vapor: plan your top penetrations deliberately. Our guides on top fitting placement, level gauge selection, sampling protocol, and label and NFPA 704 signage compliance cover the details. Refer to the technical drawing on this page for exact port locations and stand geometry.
