Snyder Industries 6200 Gallon ASTM XLPE Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Heavy wall, ordinary height

At 120 inches across and 140 inches tall, this tank keeps a dense liquid under a roof that does not need to be special: the manway sits a little under twelve feet up, and a fill line and a vent land above it inside most industrial buildings. The 1.9 wall is the reason to specify it over the standard version of this shell, which we also list. Brines, concentrates and dense process solutions need the heavy wall; plain water and most fertilizers do not, and the lighter tank costs less to buy and to freight. At the rating 98,245 lb rests on a 120 inch circle, and a rotationally moulded floor follows the concrete rather than bridging it. Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. Size the vent to the delivery pump: the air displaced by 6200 gallons has to leave as fast as the liquid arrives.
2. Fill. Run a dip tube to the floor. Free fall foams the headspace and wets the upper wall where vapour concentrates; the article on wall thickness at the vapour saturated headspace explains why that band fails first.
3. Outlet. This listing does not state an installed outlet fitting. Tell us the liquid, the size and material you need and where the drain lands, and we will confirm with Snyder what comes on the tank and what is added.
4. Temperature. 140 F (60 C) is the service limit. A hot process liquid, or a tank in direct summer sun near that limit, needs a conversation first.
