Pick a level sender rated for the chemical and bring its reading to ground level, so the number never needs a climb; keep the manway shut against vapor loss and shade a light-sensitive chemical. Put a regulated chemical in a single wall tank and the berm around it has to hold all of it. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe.

Filling from a tanker

Unloading a tanker pushes air out faster than a stock manway vent can pass it; size the vent for that rate, or fill through a dedicated top bulkhead vented separately. Run the fill pipe to the floor so caustic or coagulant does not free-fall and foam. Diluting a dense chemical makes heat, so a batch is built water first and chemical second, never the reverse. The first tanker into a new tank is a supervised job, slab edge and outlet fitting checked as it fills, and from then on each load is logged by date and strength.

A crane sets 1,900 pounds upright on the slab; unloading is a forklift job, standing it is not. Water-fill it once to the manway, hold it, then drain and dry before the chemical connection is made.
