Four part numbers come out of this 120 by 194 inch mold and they hold the same 8,500 gallons. Three of them, this one, the 7400000N46 and the 7400000N49, are listed at 2,400 pounds empty; the 7400000N48 carries 3,100 pounds of shell for a heavier duty. Each is rated as its own sheet says, and this sheet says 1.5, which it reads as 106,335 pounds of allowed contents. That is the reason to take this molding: it is the ordinary specification for the ordinary bulk liquid, and most storage chemistry does not weigh more than water by much. Buying up to the 3,100 pound wall for hypochlorite or a feed solution is paying for density nobody will store and freighting it forever. Once the wall is settled, the shape sets the install. The top four rows are one mold at one volume in two shell weights, so the choice inside the family is a specification choice, not a shape choice, and this page is the light end of it. Step outside the mold and the shape starts moving. The 5300600N40 gives up volume to come down to 186 inches, which is the tank to look at when the roof line is close and you can live with a slightly smaller delivery. The 5360100N40 goes the other way entirely, laying 8,750 gallons across a 142 inch circle only 146 inches tall, which is more volume than this tank holds in a shell a building with low purlins will actually accept, at the cost of a much larger slab. Vent first: a tanker moves air faster than most tanks can breathe

• Vent: the listed opening is an 18 inch threaded, vented manway, and the vent is sized to the pump on the delivery truck, not to whichever port happens to be free. Every gallon that goes in pushes a gallon of air out, and every gallon drawn off pulls it back; a vent that cannot keep up either pressurises a shell built for atmosphere or pulls a vacuum in it.
• Fill: a dip tube run to the floor. A stream free-falling sixteen feet foams the headspace and wets the upper wall, and that band above the liquid line is where wall thickness matters most and where a liquid-side inspection never looks. • Outlet: the sheet lists the outlet as 24. That is the field as published and it is not a pipe size; no bottom fitting diameter, material, thread or gasket appears anywhere on this sheet, and we invent none. • Access and hardware as listed: ladder lugs and two flange lines. An opening 194 inches up is a fixed platform with a rail and a gate, and a permanent fill connection landed at the manway rather than a driver holding a hose overhead in the dark.

At the base, the first valve rides on its own support off the pad with a flexible element between the tank and hard pipe, and nothing rigid bolts to the shell, because sixteen feet of standing liquid is real static pressure and a rigid run hands the wall pipe weight, thermal movement and every pump start on top of it. Use the head rather than fight it: a transfer pump set below the connection stays primed by gravity and runs flooded well down the tank, with a low-level float to stop it before it draws air rather than letting the pump find the bottom for you. This is the tank for a plant that has ceiling and not floor: a water or wastewater plant taking hypochlorite by the tanker into a ten foot footprint, a manufacturer replacing a row of totes with a single vessel in a tall bay, a co-op storing a feed or fertilizer solution that gets drawn down over weeks, a process line that needs bulk makeup water close to where it is used. The 1.5 rating covers all of it and 8,500 gallons is a bulk stage rather than a day tank; if the dosing loop wants a small vessel downstream, buy the small vessel and let this one hold the delivery. The sheet gives class 300 out of Lincoln, Nebraska at 2,400 pounds shipping weight.
