Who buys the 1.5 wall and reads the level through it

A co-op storing liquid fertilizer for the spring run, a wastewater plant dosing hypochlorite, a food plant holding brine: none of them need the heaviest wall, and all of them want to see the liquid line. Snyder makes this shell in a heavy duty wall rated to 1.9 for dense chemicals and in black for liquids that break down in light; this tank is the one for the everyday loads under a roof or where the sun is not a problem. Full of water it weighs 8,900 x 8.34 = 74,226 lb plus the tank, on a 120 inch circle, and the floor bears on all of it, so the slab is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, inside a berm where the liquid is regulated. What goes in it

Hypochlorite, polymer, fertilizer solution, brine and process water are the normal loads. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A transfer or metering pump at pad level is flooded by sixteen feet of liquid and never needs priming; a float at low level stops it before the tank runs dry, and a second float above the first gives the operator a day's warning. Support the valve and the first pipe run off the pad and trace or insulate them where winters freeze.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 194 inches up, opened from a platform with a rail. A tanker pumps in faster than a stock vent breathes out, so the vent is sized to the truck, not the tank, and the fill runs down a dip tube to the floor so the liquid does not foam or gas on the way down.
3. Freeboard. Fill to the shoulder; liquid grows as it warms and the headspace absorbs it.
