1000 Gallon Tanks

A 1,000-gallon vertical poly tank is the workhorse size for rainwater harvesting, potable and non-potable water storage, livestock and irrigation supply, bulk chemical batching, and emergency reserve.

What to know before you buy a 1,000 gallon tank

  • Material & rating: Most 1,000-gal vertical tanks are one-piece molded HDPE/HDLPE built to ASTM D1998, the majority rated to 1.9 specific gravity so they hold liquids heavier than water (fertilizers, many chemicals). Always confirm chemical compatibility and design SG for your product.
  • Footprint: A standard 1,000-gallon vertical runs roughly 64"–72" in diameter and 72"–82" tall depending on brand and profile. Low-profile and free-standing variants trade height for diameter — check the spec drawing on each product page.
  • Fittings: Sizing the bulkhead/outlet and lid to your pump and fill method matters more than the tank shell. Each product page lists outlet size, lid size and fitting options.
