A 130 gallon certified tank, 49 inches tall

The Snyder 1009500N45 is a small vertical liquid storage tank: 130 gallons of white polyethylene in a shell 29 inches across and 49 inches tall, weighing 50 pounds. It carries the same 1.9 specific gravity wall as the big chemical tanks, rated for 2,060 pounds of contents against 1,084 for water, and it is sold with ASTM certification for the skid or the lab where the paperwork has to match the plant's. An 8 inch threaded lid on top, a 3 year warranty, and it ships as small LTL freight.

Two ways to buy. Add it to your cart above with freight quoted to your ZIP, or request a written quote for a job that needs paperwork.

The heavier-walled 130

Snyder makes two certified 130 gallon tanks on a 29 inch base; this is the one with 50 pounds of resin against 45, two inches shorter, for the day tank that will be filled with a dense liquid and worked hard. Sized for a liquid almost twice as dense as water, the wall carries a certification to ASTM D1998, the standard written for rotationally molded polyethylene tanks; the HDPE tank wall thickness guide explains the D1998 sizing logic and why the vapor headspace is where a wall fails first, and the freeboard sizing guide works out how much of the nominal 130 gallons is usable once thermal expansion is accounted for. Full, it puts 2,060 pounds on a 29 inch circle, which a slab or a paver pad supports, and at nearly twice its width in height it is bracketed to something. The 130 gallon vertical tank buyers guide sets the makers' shapes at this volume side by side; the tank sizing calculator sizes a day tank to the pump's rate and the refill schedule, and the tank sizing guide covers the reserve.

The 1007300 tanks are the lighter 130s on this base, 2 inches taller, the N42 in cross-linked resin for oxidizers. The 1540200N51 is the squat 120 for a floor without a bracket, and the 1012800N45 and 5710100N45 are the certified 150s, 10 and 12 inches taller.

Openings as shipped

  • Access: 8 inch threaded lid; filled by hose, drum pump or funnel.
  • Outlet: the bulkhead fitting is chosen for the chemical at order time; a flexible line to the pump suction and a valve supported off the floor.
  • Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
  • Listing: ASTM certification.

Bracket the tank to a wall or the skid frame so a snagged hose cannot pull it over, and mount the dosing pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, with a union and a check valve in the suction line. A white 49 inch tank shows its level at a glance; a low-level float switch protects the pump. Keep the lid closed against vapor loss and the tank out of direct sun where the chemical is light-sensitive; a 29 inch tank fits a standard spill pallet.

In service

Day tanks at small water systems and well houses, chemical feed skids, lab and pilot plants, brine for a small softener, and, with water in it, one cell of the small reserve the fire-water reservoir design guide describes. One chemical per tank, labeled, rinsed at every changeover.

Freight and unloading

The 1009500N45 ships palletized as LTL freight (NMFC 156600-02) at a class rate; the freight cost estimator shows the lane to your ZIP; the listed figure is the price before freight. One person carries 50 pounds. Check the lid and the outlet fitting, fill it once with water to prove the seal, bracket it, and keep the certification paperwork with the project file. The first fill is the only cheap time to find a problem, so do it in daylight with someone watching the base.
