A low green 1,500 gallon tank, 71 inches tall
The Snyder WG47 holds 1,500 gallons of water in a green high density linear polyethylene shell 86 inches across and 71 inches tall, weighing 215 pounds. It is the low profile 1,500 with standard threaded polypropylene fittings, a 1-1/2 inch inlet, a 2 inch outlet and an 18 inch vented manway, for the cistern that is filled, held and drawn by a hose or a small pump. Seventy-one inches clears a six foot header with room for the lid; green blocks light like black does. Rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, water and liquids no heavier, with a 3 year warranty.

The base for a wide, low tank
Full, the WG47 carries 12,510 pounds on an 86 inch circle, and a low tank spreads that load only if the base is flat and in full contact under the whole floor: a slab or a compacted pad built by the method in the concrete pad sizing guide. A low tank does not tip or catch wind, so the site work is the floor and nothing else. Leave a clear side for the outlet and a pump and room above the manway for the lid and a hose. The tank sizing calculator confirms 1,500 gallons against your draw before the base is built.
Snyder's 1,300 to 1,600 gallon water tanks
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| WG47 (this tank, green) | 1,500 | 86 x 71 in | 215 lb |
| WB46, black | 1,500 | 86 x 70 in | 210 lb |
| 32547, black | 1,600 | 86 x 71 in | 217 lb |
| 32541, tall | 1,500 | 65 x 114 in | 230 lb |
| 32535, tall | 1,300 | 60 x 114 in | 194 lb |
The WB46 is the black low profile an inch shorter. The 32547 is the near twin at 1,600 gallons on the same base and height. The tall tanks hold the same water on a five foot circle: the 32541 stands 114 inches, 43 taller than this one, and the 32535 does the same at 1,300 gallons on a 60 inch base. Low when the ceiling decides, tall when the floor does.

Ports and access
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, low on the sidewall.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, reachable from the floor.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Threaded fittings take a PVC adapter and a garden hose or a small transfer pump; mount a pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity. A sight tube off the outlet reads the level through an opaque wall. In a freezing climate the body takes ice from the top down without harm; the outlet valve and the first run of pipe are the parts to insulate or drain.
Where you will find one
Rain cisterns under decks, well buffers, stock water along a fence, and one unit of a rural fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes. In multiples, the storage stage of a roof-water and condensate reuse train, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article; the tank sizing guide turns the gallons into days. Clean it once a year through the manway with a wash-down wand, drain through the outlet, and let it dry before refilling.
From the plant to your site
The WG47 ships palletized as LTL freight (NMFC 156600-01) at a class rate; the freight cost estimator gives it for your ZIP, and the listed price is before freight. Two people carry 215 pounds off a liftgate. Fill in stages the first time, watching the base and both fittings, as the hydrostatic test methodology guide lays out, and keep a screen on the inlet and the vent. A photo of the tank on its pad, full, on day one is worth keeping; it is the baseline every later inspection is compared against.
